Virginia Tozzi - Contemporary Artist and Painter
Statement
Virginia Tozzi was born in 1988. Originally from Florence, she is currently based in London.
In the course of her artistic career, Virginia performed several personal exhibitions within Italy, United States, and the United Kingdom.
During her painting studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, Virginia got intrigued by photography, moving from raw film Lomography towards sharper digital captures. In line with this, photography is still a major part of her creative process for paintings and drawings.
Virginia considers painting her best form of expression, fluctuating from conceptual to informal compositions and occasionally, this last is merged with other techniques and materials.
Virginia’s artworks pivot around defined themes. Nature is a recurrent topic, and it is often used to explore different concepts, including the alteration of reality and materials, as well as time lawlessness.
